If you have managed to secure a promotion, then it’s clear that you have been working very hard. Because of this, you deserve a weekend break. If you have a group of friends who like to party, then you could all go on a bar crawl. A bar crawl will be a great way to unwind. If you no longer go out partying, then going on a bar crawl is a great way to relive your youth, just for a night.

If a bar crawl isn’t your kind of thing and you don’t want to fly abroad or stay in a hotel, then you could just throw a small party at your home. You could invite some close friends, family members, or even colleagues from work with whom you have a good relationship. If you are inviting people over then you have two options.
You can either cook for them yourself or order take-out food. Since you have just got a promotion, take-out food is probably the best option. You probably want to relax, not cook a huge meal.

If you have a partner or spouse, then you could take them out for a gourmet meal. Five-star restaurants aren’t cheap (which is why most people never eat at them), but if you have received a promotion and will be receiving a pay rise, then you should definitely treat yourself.

If you have a spouse or partner and they also work, then they could contribute toward the meal (since it is a celebration of your promotion and not a treat for them).

Alternatively, you could just cook dinner for yourself and your partner at home. There are lots of applications online that allow you to purchase meal packs from five-star restaurants in your area. If you purchase these, then a gourmet meal’s ingredients will be delivered straight to your door.
Once the ingredients have arrived, you will usually receive an accompanying email that will tell you how to prepare the food. Sometimes the meal comes already cooked, and all you have to do is to reheat it. You usually have the choice of fresh ingredients or already cooked food, so choose the latter if you aren’t a competent chef.
New Suit
If you have just received a new promotion, then you will likely want to go to work looking your best. Why not invest in a new suit? If your job does not require you to wear a suit then you could consider getting other clothes for work, i.e., work boots.
If you are planning on going out and buying yourself a suit, then if you can afford it it’s definitely worth going to a professional bespoke tailor and having a suit made up for yourself from scratch. A bespoke suit will fit like a glove and will motivate you to work harder in the future.
Buying A Gift
If you don’t want to buy yourself a suit or any clothes and nothing else in this post appeals to you, then why don’t you go out and buy yourself another kind of gift? A promotion isn’t something that’s easily achieved.
You deserve to buy yourself something, even if it is very cheap. If there’s a book, film, or something else that you have wanted for a while, then buy it for yourself. If money is no issue, then buy yourself something larger, like a car.
